La donna esplosiva [Weird Science, 1985]

La donna esplosiva, in originale Weird Science, è una tipica delizia adolescenziale Anni Ottanta accompagnata da un insulso motivetto sintetico.

Due ragazzini socialmente inetti realizzano un tipico sogno della loro età e del loro tempo: la materializzazione di un perfetto e disponibile esemplare del genere femminile attraverso un home computer, direttamente nella loro cameretta.

Ma l'unica esperienza diretta che ottengono è fare una doccia con lei totalmente nuda, mentre loro indossano dei blue jeans. Sono troppo timidi persino per sfruttare la loro stessa creazione, programmata per essere al loro completo servizio (per quanto uno dei ragazzini riesca ad ottenere una sessione di baci – pur senza, per così dire, tecniche francesi).

Ad ogni modo, Lisa, questo il nome della donna artificiale interpretata dalla conturbante Kelly Lebrock, è una sorta di "Mary Poppins con le tette", completa di accento British, e il suo ruolo, nel prosieguo della storia, cambia da oggetto del desiderio dei due nerd a guida che li aiuterà a superare le loro paure, ansietà, codardia, goffaggine, vergogna e quant'altro - mettendoli in situazioni da cui non potranno ritrarsi, e, persino, vedendosela direttamente con i loro genitori, fratelli, amici e persecutori.

Ovviamente, vivendo in America, la liberazione dalla loro condizione sociale verrà sancita dall'utilizzo di un revolver, del resto anche efficace simbolo fallico, per espellere alcuni teppisti impegnati a rovinare un party a casa di uno dei ragazzi.

Quindi, la missione di Lisa è finita, e, proprio come Mary Poppins, ora può andarsene, essendo i protagonisti riusciti a farsi accettare dai loro pari, e avendo loro finalmente conquistato l'attenzione delle ragazze che anelavano: due noiose, schifiltose e banali tizie che a malapena conoscevano.

Avrebbero dovuto concentrarsi su Kelly Lebrock.

In sintesi, un film imperdibile per chi vorrebbe una macchina del tempo per tornare negli anni ottanta, nonché per coloro che stanno ancora tentando di evocare la donna perfetta attraverso un computer.

E non sono mai stati tanti come ora.

Weird Science [1985]

Weird Science is a typical Eighties' teenage delight accompanied by a silly synth-pop tune.

Two socially inept teenagers fulfill a typical dream of their age and time, the materialization of a perfect and available specimen of the female genre through a home computer, directly in their bedroom.

But the only direct experience that they get is a shower with her, she totally naked and they wearing blue jeans. They're too shy even to use their own creation, programmed to be at their own complete service.

Anyway, Lisa, that's the artificial woman's name, played by the perturbing Kelly Lebrock, is a sort of "Mary Poppins with breast", complete with British accent, and her role changes, from being the object of the two nerd's desire to be the guide that will lead them to overcome their fears, anxities, cowardice, clumsiness, awkwardness, submission, and whatever, by putting them in situations they can't back out of, and even dealing directly with their parents, brothers, friends, and persecutors.

Living in America, the deliverance from their social condition will be sealed by using a revolver, after all also an effective phallic symbol, to expel some thugs ruining a party at one of the guys' house.

So, Lisa's mission is complete, and, just like Mary Poppins, now she can leave, having the main characters been accepted by their peers, and having they finally conquered the attention of the girls they longed for: two boring, fastidious and banal individuals that they barely knew.

They should have sticked to Kelly Lebrock.

All in all, a must see for those who long for a time machine to go back to the Eighties, and for those still trying to summon the perfect woman through a computer.

And there have never been so many.
